Chicago Citizenship Oath Ceremony

U.S. Citizenship Swearing-In Oath Ceremony
The naturalization ceremony started at 9 a.m. at Chicago Field Office - US Citizenship and Immigration Services 101 West Congress Parkway in Chicago Illinois and lasted about an hour. The formalities and swearing-in were conducted by a judge and other Immigration and Naturalization Service personnel. An Immigration and Naturalization Service officer asked the judge to grant the immigrants in the auditorium American citizenship based on the recommendation of the Attorney General. The Judge agreed, administered the Oath, and gave a speech welcoming the new citizens. Each new citizen received a Naturalization Certificate.
