About Karl Schneider and the SSBMW Website

Who runs this Website?
I do. My name is Karl Schneider, and I'm a Sr. Web Developer. I've been a web developer for over fifteen years, previously working for Dana, Inc. and Netimage, Inc.

Why?
Digital photography and Website development are my hobbies. I can make time stand still and offer views of unique places and subjects with digital photography. In addition, I am fascinated with the power of the Web and the challenges involved with developing Websites that are easy-to-use for visitors using Web Analytics.

What  runs this Website?
This Website is built with Drupal, an open source content management platform.

Why the SSBMW name?
I acquired the SSBMW domain name  in 1998 for a automotive dealership client. After the dealership dropped the BMW brand form their portfolio they no longer had a business need to keep the domain name.  It was short, easy to remember and Google friendly. I decided to keep it for my own use.

Where do the photos come from?
The images come from places I visit.

Can I buy / reprint / re-use your photos?

Do you provide EXIF data (information about the photo)?
Yes, view the photo gallery using Google Picasa link. Individual photo information link is located on the top right side of the page for each photo.

What kind of camera do you use?
Canon Power Shot SD790 IS.

Did you make these photos?
Yes. The photographs on SSBMW and in my Picasa Galleries are made by me.

Who writes the photo captions and photo gallery descriptions?
I do with the help of Wikitravel and Wikipedia. If you find an inaccuracy or a typo, please let me know, thank you.

Where did you get the idea for your photo blog?
Actually, I got the idea from The Big Picture.  A Website maintained by Allan Taylor.
